Can you make an Idea or Comment visible to only a selected set of users?

Pro

You can control whether an Idea is visible in the Idea Portal and Public Roadmap or visible only internally. Some companies choose to hide certain Ideas to maintain a strategic competitive advantage or respond to customers privately.

  • Log in to Beamer.
  • In Beamer Feedback, you will see the Ideas Portal.
  • To the left of each Idea is an eye icon where you can toggle visibility between internal or public.

Click on the eye, when it turns green, it means the Idea is visible to everyone. Or click into an Idea and use the Visibility dropdown menu.

To change the visibility of a Comment:

  • Log in to Beamer.
  • In Beamer Feedback, either find the Comment you want to change the visibility of by Idea, or use the sidebar to navigate to Inbox and then go into New Comments.
  • Under each Comment is an eye icon where you can toggle visibility between internal or public. Click on the eye, when it turns green, it means the Comment is visible to everyone.

Note: All new Ideas will be only internal by default (the eye icon will be red), if you’d like to change the default status of the visibility, learn more here.

You can filter your Ideas by visibility. Go to the left panel and click on the box to filter by Public or Internal Ideas.
