How do I control who can vote on Ideas? pro plan & up
You can control who can vote on Ideas to ensure you’re addressing the most important pain points of your users.
Important:
*If you have set up Beamer, and your customers are logged in to your app, they won’t be asked to identify themselves.
Here is how you can set up what information you’ll collect from users:
- Navigate to Settings on the left panel.
- Click on Beamer Feedback.
- Scroll down to Order and Visibility.
Request an email to submit a Idea
Set up whether you collect a user’s email when they submit an Idea.
Here are the options:
Option | Functionality |
Don’t request email | The user’s email is not required to submit an Idea. |
Request email (Optional) | The user can choose to provide an email to receive future updates about an Idea. |
Request email (Required) | It is mandatory for the user to provide an email to submit an Idea*. |
Request a name to submit an Idea
Set up whether you collect a name when a user submits an Idea.
Here are the options.
Option | Functionality |
Don’t request name | The user’s name is not required to submit an Idea. |
Request name (optional) | The user can choose to provide a name while creating an Idea. |
Request name (required) | It is mandatory for the user to provide a name to submit an Idea*. |
Request a email when users comment on a Idea
Option | Functionality |
Don’t request email | The user’s email is not required to comment on an Idea. |
Request email (optional) | The user can choose to provide an email. This way they can receive future updates about the Idea. |
Request email (required) | It is mandatory for the user to provide an email to comment on an Idea*. |
Note:
- If the Public Roadmap is visible to everyone, including prospects, we recommend collecting email addresses so you can keep them updated on Ideas that they’ve voted on or requested.
